The challenge
Stop renting the core workflow.
A contracting business needed estimates, invoices, payments, and customer records in one place. Subscription software meant recurring fees, a workflow built for other industries, and core records hosted by a third party.
I built a Windows desktop application that the business can install and run locally, with its invoicing process in a tool it owns.
What I built
From estimate to paid invoice.
The application handles the full sequence: create an estimate, email a branded PDF, turn approved work into an invoice, record payments, and review what remains due.
Branded PDFs
Generate professional estimates and invoices with the business logo and email the PDF directly from the app.
Balances and aging
Record partial payments, update the remaining balance automatically, and identify invoices 30, 60, or 90 days overdue.
Account history
View a customer's invoice and payment history and produce statements when needed.
Books-ready exports
Review revenue reports and export CSV files for the bookkeeper or accountant.
Line item catalog
Keep common products and services ready to add to the next estimate or invoice.
Local data and backups
Core records live in a single file on the business's computer and are backed up automatically. Existing invoices can be opened offline.
A Windows installer
The application installs as a desktop program without a separate server or a monthly software subscription.

Why it matters
A complete tool the business owns.
Estimates, invoices, balances, statements, and reports are available from one Windows application. The business can work with its records offline, keep its local data file and backups, and avoid an ongoing software subscription.
Sending a PDF by email still uses the business's email service. The core invoicing records remain in the local application.
